9:40 pm - 05 April, 2003 Listening to--Blue Man Group: Audio...17 more days until The Complex Today, I had a lovely conversation with Kevin and another server at work who goes by the nickname "Evil". We were talking about sex and relationships (as one does during that dead-time between lunch and dinner when there's about 3 tables in the restaurant), and Kevin brought up his way of running for the hills as soon as a girl seems like she may be "latching on." He then proceeded to site an example. "Like--remember Gillian?" He said. Then looked at me, and said very quickly "I mean Jen--Jen--the--she used to be a host here..." I smiled and said "Freudian slip?"And the conversation went on, no thanks to Kevin's terribly sloppy recovery. I, however, was laughing about it for quite some time. It was as though all these possibilities of what went wrong just been blown away on the wind, leaving a clear, obvious answer. He's just an ass. As for all the flirting and the one random drunken phone call I didn't answer...just him fucking with me. So now that I'm broken-hearted and pining over Christian, I can at least move on from Kevin. It's about damn time. And I can feel free to be as much of a bitch to him as I want--because he fucking deserves it. Moving right along... I'm having a Blue Man Day. I checked the boards and everything this morning before I went into work, and I found posted there a link to the video for Singalong, featuring Dave Matthews. I'm still trying to figure out all of the symbolism and stuff behind it, and I'm sure that, once I do, it will be even more awesome, but already I am blown away. Just from this video, I can see where they may be going with the structure and presentation of the touring show, and that, although they are taking a more sombre approach to the world outside, Blue Man still retains that wonderful sense of humor that we all grew to love in Tubes. --side note to all non-Blue Man Group fans: I'm sorry, this probably makes no sense whatsoever. I try to limit my rantings about the Blue Guys, but I just feel like blabbering on about them today. My apologies.-- Needless to say, I love the video, and I can't wait for the rest of them to come out! As though that weren't enough Blue Man for the day, I checked the boards again when I got home, and I found out some more great news. It all goes back to an interview with the founders that I am far to lazy to search for in the Blue Man Library, in which, Matt Goldman randomly reffered to his dog as a dogulum. The name stuck, and ever since, I have been pushing for a dogulum on the new album. Well, I finally found out today that there is a Dogulum on the new CD. That may not seem exciting, but to me it is. Not sure why. But it makes me happy. Blue Man Day is supposed to be on the 27th of every month, but I prefer to let it happen spontaneously. Today has definitely been a Blue Man Day.
